The Tri-Bush Ward
While playing on the purple side of the map, warding the tri-bush gives your team vision on one of the enemy team's jungle exits. Typically, when the enemy jungler plans to gank bottom, they would have just recently cleared their red buff or double golems. They will then proceed towards bot lane by going through the tri-bush since this is the shortest and most optimal path for them to take. Junglers with long distance gap closers such as Nocturne and Zac can also use this bush to set up a gank. In addition, warding the tri-bush when against an enemy Thresh can help prevent a lantern gank with the enemy jungler.
The ward will also be even more useful if you decide to push the lane since the enemy would be spotted going through the tri-bush or the surrounding area if they try to get behind you for the gank. Also, by controlling the enemy vision in the tri-bush with a pink vision ward, you can set up your own ganks with your jungler by pinging the jungle path through the enemy wraith camp entrance. Warding this bush will not only help you in the lane and setting up ganks, but it will also assist your team when trying to take dragon. There are only two paths for the blue team to enter the dragon area from which are the tri-bush and the wraith camp entrance. By having vision on the tri-bush, you can get free poke damage or disengage from the dragon safely if needed depending on the circumstances.
The Dragon Ward
Similar to the blue side, by placing a ward near the dragon pit, you can foresee any incoming ganks from the enemy mid laner or jungler since the river is a common gank path. Controlling the vision around dragon is typically easier on the purple side since if the enemy team tries to collapse while you are warding or clearing their wards, you have a clear escape path through your own jungle. However, while you have easy and safe access to the river through your own jungle, it is also important that your team exercises caution entering the dragon area if your team does not have any vision. Clumping up in choke points could be devastating and potentially cost your team a dragon and the team fight that may ensue. It is recommended that you drop a ward over the cliff rather than walking directly into the pit blindly.
The Lane Bush Wards
Refer to the Blue Side Lane Bush Wards section.
The River Bush Ward
The river bush is a more efficient place to ward when playing on the purple side as opposed to the blue side. Due to the shape of summoners rift, the only way for the enemy jungler to safely get behind you is through that bush area. The river bush ward will be able to spot both junglers exiting from the tri-bush and junglers entering through the river. However, even though you should be safe from ganks coming from the left side of the map, it does provide limited vision which can be dangerous. If your lane is pushed up to the enemy turret, a jungler may be spotted by the ward but it may be too late to react by the time they enter the ward's vision area.
The Turret Bush Ward
This ward is normally placed in the bush that is located to the left of your turret towards the blue golem buff area. This ward is situational but can be very useful especially if the enemy team is pushing up to your tower. By having vision on that bush, you can see any potential dives and react by either calling for assistance, or by backing away from the tower. Generally, I will often place this ward when either my AD carry or myself are low on HP, the enemy begins pushing aggressively suddenly, or the enemy mid laner is no longer in their lane despite being at healthy HP and mana levels.
In the end, these are just general ward spots with some explanations behind their importance and role. When in game, you should always play according to the current situation and make any adjustment to your best judgement. Thanks for reading, I hope the article was informative.
